Forming in February 98’, 'Out of the Earth'  began its inception as a band with fresh and original musical ideals and a resounding intent to realise these on record.  The Brisbane based 3 piece quickly set about developing themes and ideas for a succession of songs that could be used as the basis for a studio album - what would be a debut for them.

Writing and rehearsing began in earnest shortly after the band formed.  Rehearsals saw fresh ideas being realised, new songs being created.  Negotiations commenced and continued in the hope of securing an engineer to record and produce the ‘Out of the Earth’  sound.  Friend of the band and fellow musician, Matt, was recruited to play the major role .. not only would Matt record, engineer and co-produce the album, but he would also guest on guitar for a number of tracks.

Some five months later and the band entered the studio.  Armed with a selection of rehearsed songs ready to record, the arduous journey of producing a studio album began.  It took 12 months of rare and intermittent studio time to record the album, mix, produce and master the final product.

The 4th day of May 2000 saw the original idea realised - the release of the self titled album
