Guard
& Combat Classic
The Guard & Combat Classic is a full-day event usually held three or four times each year. It consists of two distinct forms of shooting competition. The first part consists of Guard competition and the second part is for 300-point and 600-point combat competition. The Guard course are used for New York State 47-hr qualification and 8hr annual re-qualification. The 300-point and 600-point courses are combined in creating an 1800 score for the day (both 300-point courses added to either two 600-point courses, or one doubled 600-point course), which is used for both event trophies and overall placement in the cumulative student rankings. The event itself serves as the range portion of the NRA courses for Basic Pistol, Personal Protection, and Instructors, or for those wishing to qualify for a Utah CCW.
